Some info about me

Born in Namibia and raised in South Africa, I have been living in the UK since 2001.

For the majority of my professional career I have been working in web development and IT, but currently with the aim to move into photography as a career, and find a way to contribute to nature conservation.

While photography has always been an interest and a hobby to me, the last few years have seen it develop into a true passion, with a desire to capture and share as much as possible of world around me. My photography has been very much for personal use until now.

Primarily, my focus is nature and wildlife photography. My love for nature and wildlife stems from my upbringing in Africa - my parents encouraged an appreciation for the natural world and its wonders, and I am eternally grateful to them for that.

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

I just wish the world was twice as big and half of it was still unexplored.

Gear

I have been a Sony shooter for some time now, starting with A mount for a while, and then (not so slowly) migrating over to E mount.

My love for Sony mirror-less began with the a6000 - brilliant performance for the price. Unfortunately Sony has become a bit less about performance for the price, but that has not stopped me.

Since moving to Sony E mount, it’s also been a gradual move towards full frame entirely. I enjoyed the A7ii so much that it was not long before I moved the R series with the A7Rii, and then added the A7Riii, and these two R cameras are my staples now.
