Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)
The Common Kestrel is probably the most familiar bird of prey in the UK, often seen hovering in the air hunting.
Their more common status in no way detracts from their beauty. I can, and have, spent many hours watching, tracking and photographing them.
While some raptors, such as the Sparrowhawk can be quite elusive and shy, Kestrels will gladly put on a display, not shying away too much from human presence.
